die Industrie zunehmend gestiegen, sodass die konkrete Anwendung mathematischer Methoden in vielen Bereichen zwingend erforderlich geworden ist. Die TWT investiert bereits seit ihrer Gr\u00fcndung 1986 in die Entwicklung der Mathematik. Die Fachgruppierung Mathematical Research, bestehend aus \u00fcber 30 Mathematiker:innen und Mathematikinteressierten, dem Mathematik Circle, tr\u00e4gt dieser Tatsache in mehrfacher Hinsicht Rechnung. Durch die breit gestreute Expertise der Mitarbeitenden bieten wir Fachwissen aus allen gro\u00dfen Bereichen der Mathematik, wie z.B. Analysis, Algebra, Zahlentheorie, Numerik, Stochastik, Data Analytics und Operations Research. Dieses Wissen nutzen wir unter anderem zur Untersuchung und L\u00f6sung grundlegender mathematischer Fragestellungen auf h\u00f6chstem akademischem Niveau. Die so gewonnenen Erkenntnisse nutzen wir dann im Sinne des technisch-wissenschaftlichen Transfers, um unsere Kunden in den immer komplexer werdenden ingenieurwissenschaftlichen, physikalischen und technischen Problemstellungen den notwendigen Vorsprung zu schaffen, der die Wettbewerbsf\u00e4higkeit in der Industrie der Zukunft sichert. Damit wir diesem Anspruch gerecht werden k\u00f6nnen, pflegen wir ein stetig wachsendes Netzwerk zu f\u00fchrenden Instituten und Professor:innen auf der ganzen Welt, welche uns aktiv bei unseren Projekten beraten und unterst\u00fctzen. Hierzu geh\u00f6ren unter anderem ehemalige TWT-Kolleg:innen, die dem Ruf zur\u00fcck an die Hochschule gefolgt sind.<\/p><p>Mathematische Grundlagenforschung besch\u00e4ftigt sich mit abstrakten Fragestellungen, die oftmals auf den ersten Blick keine direkte Anwendung in Industrieprojekten haben. Die Bedeutung der mathematischen Grundlagenforschung liegt vorallem in der Entwicklung neuer Methoden und der Erweiterung des vorhandenen Wissens. Das volle Potential dieser Forschungsergebnisse wird vielfach erst sp\u00e4ter und sehr oft auf \u00fcberraschende und unvorhergesehene Weise ausgesch\u00f6pft. Ein spezieller Aspekt dieser besonderen Zahlen ist dabei ihre Verteilung innerhalb der positiven reellen Zahlen. Dazu wird die Funktion \u03c0(x), definiert, die jeder reellen Zahl x die Anzahl \u03c0(x) der Primzahlen p angibt, f\u00fcr die gilt p \u2264 x. Eine erste Absch\u00e4tzung konnten 1896 unabh\u00e4ngig voneinander 1896 Jacques Salomon Hadamard und Charles-Jean de La Val\u00e9e Poussin zeigen: \u03c0(x) verh\u00e4lt sich f\u00fcr x gegen unendlich wie x\/ln(x). Nach eigener Erinnerung hatte Carl Friedrich Gauss dieselbe Vermutung schon 1792 bzw. 93 aufgestellt. Eine Verbesserung dieser Absch\u00e4tzung gelingt durch das Eulersche logarithmische Integral Li(x)=\u222bdt\/ln(t), welches von 2 bis x integriert wird. Dies geschieht, indem ein weiterer Zugang zur Approximation der Primzahl z\u00e4hlenden Funktion \u03c0(x) verfolgt wird, der auf einer additiven Funktion beruht. Zusammen mit Fourier-Polygonen, die im Kontext von regularisierenden Polygontransformationen zur Anwendung kommen, k\u00f6nnen fraktale Primzahlpolygone and fraktale Primzahlkurven abgeleitet Grundlagenforschung bei TWT besch\u00e4ftigt sich mit der Symmetrie von endlichen Summen von komplexen Exponentialfunktionen. Die Exponentialfunktion ist von fundamentaler Bedeutung in der Mathematik und tritt zum Beispiel als elementarer Baustein in Fourierreihen auf. Interpretiert man nun den Graphen einer komplexen Exponentialfunktion als parametrisierte Kurve, so ergibt sich der Einheitskreis. Addiert man aber mehrere verschiedene, komplexe Exponentialfunktionen, so entstehen faszinierende Graphen deren Symmetrie von den erzeugenden Parametern abh\u00e4ngt. In einem konkreten Auftrag haben wir beispielsweise bereits unseren Kunden darin beraten, wie die Vergabe von Projekten an externe Partner ideal verteilt wird, unter Ber\u00fccksichtigung von mehreren internen Stakeholdern mit eigenen Priorit\u00e4ten bez\u00fcglich der Vergabe.
